Park Atlantis
-
Park Atlantis in De Haan, located in the dunes between Klemskerke and the coast, was originally built in 1948 as the socialist holiday resort “Torenhof” for working-class families. After going bankrupt in 1997, it was privatized and transformed into a holiday park with 23 houses and its iconic tower buildings, now known as Park Atlantis.
This project captures the surrounding landscape, the towers as seen from different angles, and the lives of residents in the apartments.
The park also holds personal memories for me, as I often visited its former swimming pool during summer holidays in the 1970s.
